about Joan

As an accomplished nonprofit and smaller business professional, I build on opportunities to support the efforts of others. More recent experience includes: Marketing and Communications Manager, Director of Development, National Marketing Manager, and Director of Public Relations and Development; I previously served as Executive Director, as Chief Development Officer and have experience and education in broadcast (radio) and print journalism. I am a committed community volunteer, serving as allocations chair and grants committee member for the United Way of Greater St. Louis, event chair for the Kirkwood Des Peres Chamber of Commerce, and offering communications, fundraising and other support of nonprofits throughout our community that exist to better the lives of people who need help.

As a blogger, I have a personal affinity for the perspectives, experiences and expectations of baby boomers and older adults.

I will eventually become a self-taught cellist; I always appreciate the absurdity and joyfulness of life.
